I.Application scenarios of cyclone dust collectors

Cyclone dust collectors, primarily designed to handle large particles of dust, are commonly employed as pre-treatment equipment at the forefront of bag filters and cartridge filters. In the mining sector, cyclone dust collectors are frequently utilized in coal mining and stone crushing operations. In the metallurgical industry, they are typically used for ore crushing. In the building materials industry, cyclone dust collectors are essential in numerous stages of cement production. In the thermal power generation field, cyclone dust collectors serve as pre-treatment devices for boiler dust removal. In the grain processing industry, they are employed to eliminate particulate matter generated during the grain processing process.

  1. Characteristics of cyclone dust collector

The cyclone dust collector operates by allowing the dust-laden airflow to enter the cylinder at high speed. Under the influence of centrifugal force, dust particles are thrown towards the wall and fall into the ash hopper, while the clean gas is discharged from the top. Its characteristics include:

(1) Efficient separation of coarse particles: For particles with a diameter greater than 10μm, the separation efficiency can reach 80%-95%, making it particularly suitable for handling coarse dust in industries such as woodworking, mineral powder, and foundry.

(2) No consumable parts: Utilizing fluid dynamics to achieve dust separation, it has a low failure rate and maintenance costs are only 1/3 to 1/2 of those for bag filters.

(3) High temperature and high pressure resistance: The main material is mostly carbon steel or stainless steel, which can handle high-temperature gases below 500℃.

(4) Compact structure: It occupies only 1/2 of the area of a bag filter, making it suitable for plant layouts with limited space.

III. Structural composition of cyclone dust collector

  1. Air inlet: The air inlet is located on the side of the cyclone dust collector and is designed for tangential entry to create a rotating airflow.
  2. Cylinder: The cylinder is the main component of the cyclone dust collector, where the internal airflow forms a spiral ascending motion.
  3. Cone: The cone is attached below the cylinder, which helps to accelerate the airflow and further separate the dust.
  4. Ash hopper: The ash hopper is located at the bottom of the cone and is used to collect the separated dust.
  5. Exhaust port: The exhaust port is located at the top of the cyclone dust collector and is used to discharge the purified gas.
